The high today was 58. When I went to work this morning I had on a fleece and was comfortable. I laughted at the guy in his winter parka, hat, and gloves. It is supposed to get down to 28 tonight so we may need to cover our plants. Joel loves this but I'm ready for it to get back in the 70s! We're headed north on Saturday, stopping through Alabama to see the The Searby's and then on to Illinois to see the Raymer's. The purpose of our trip is to meet our new nephew!!! We are SO excited!!! Although, I'm not so excited about winter in Illinois.
Our most recent excitement was our trip to the Magic Kingdom at Disney World. On our way to Orlando on my birthday, we got the phone call from my brother telling us that Cameron David Raymer finally arrived into the world!! He just wanted to wait until his Aunt Jen's birthday :). You can see pictures of him on Melissa's blog, simply click on "Melissa" under my links.
We were sad that we were unable to be there for the big event but we have plans to go see him at the end of this month. Instead, we enjoyed Disney and thought about how fun it will be for Cameron to go someday!
This was Joel's first visit and I hadn't been there since I was 9 years old. We went to Downtown Disney on Friday night then spent all day Saturday at Magic Kingdom then on Sunday went to the Mall at Millenia. Here are some pictures from the weekend...
This is Joel with our lego house at Downtown Disney.
Here we are on the Magic Carpet Ride.
This is me trying to be a pirate.
And here is Joel before the 3d movie!
Okay, here it goes....the quick update of what we did in December:
At the beginning of December we flew back to Illinois for Seth & Rachel's wedding. It was a quick trip but we had a great time and Joel was able to see all of his high school buddies.
Here is Joel with Gabe and Luke:
A few days before Christmas, Claudia was able to visit us in Gainesville. Here we are at Lake Alice. Unfortunately we only saw the little gators that day.
We went to Auburn for Christmas with the Searby's. We got to spend quite a few days with John, Jessi, & Jack. Here is Jack playing in his truck...
For New Year's Eve we went to the Bainter's house. It was a fun-filled eveing of food and fireworks! Here is Joel celebrating with a sparkler....
