God is Bigger Than the Emergency Room
I believe in using medicine and going to doctors but there comes a time when you have to put your faith in a God that is bigger than any emergency room. We've been visiting Joel's parents in Birmingham this weekend. Evan came down with a fever yesterday. Mark and Linda would probably agree that he should have gone to the emergency room, but there was something inside of me saying "No, its going to be fine. Don't expose him to even more sick people. He's going to get through this." I just kept praying and believing that God would heal him. His fever continued to decrease throughout the day and evening. After an intense time of prayer over the phone with Aunt Patti, we took his temperature again and it was at 98.9. I instantly thought that God had worked a miracle. Today, Evan has a little cough with some congestion...but nothing compared to yesterday. We are driving home from Birmingham today and if the cough persists throughout today then we will definately be going to the doctor in the morning.

So what did I learn from this?

God is bigger than the emergency room. God can do anything if we ask and believe. I often have a hard time believing stories of healing or miracles. My faith has grown through this experience and maybe I will listen a little more intently the next time someone tells me how God has worked in their life.

:) thank you for sharing your story...God is pretty stinking awesome. i don't know why it's so hard for us to believe He does the amazing...and He wants to, that's pretty cool, too. love you

Why is it easier sometime to go to the dr. than to ask the Great Physician to heal? Thanks for sharing your story and reminding me to put my trust in God! Hope he continues to feel better : )
