defeating the danger dog
Oh yeah, I wanted to let all of you who were concerned about my diet know that we are now swimming for excercise. Did you all know that swimming works every muscle in your body and leaves you sore for days? Why didn't you tell me? Honestly though, its been great. We have a junior olympic size pool at our complex which is great for swimming laps. I feel so much better now that we're excercising. And yes, I'll cut back on the "danger dogs."

Joel - good for you getting swimming in as exercise. Down there, you will probably be able to swim way into the winter months. Not as hard on your joints and feet as playing basketball, huh? Dad and I were trying to remember if you took swim lessons past the "tot spot" ones I remember when you were 2. Surely you did? Do you consider yourself to be a good swimmer? Dad and I have been walking every morning at the park - 6 laps which equals a mile and a half - not a big deal, but it is movement! Anyway, there is this couple that is always there when we are, and they always say hello. Yesterday, the wife was by herself and caught up with us and chatted for 6 laps. We found out she and her husband are Christians, attending a community church. She is an editorial journalist for the B'ham News and he is a photographer for UPI News Service. At the end of the walk, we asked her if they would be interested in a home Bible study with us and she said, "yes!" She told us today that she talked to her husband about it and he is excited about it. So....our exercise has helped us make some new friends and fellow Christians to start meeting with. We will exchange contact info next week and hopefully get something going soon. Have a nice weekend! Love ya, Mom
